Sofitel Mumbai BKC

One my recent trip to Mumbai, city has U have gradually started loving, I got the opportunity to see a different side of the city that never sleeps. We decided to leave hustling-bustling Bandra behind for a much calmer BKC Complex and decided to relax at one of the most Luxurious properties in town, Sofitel Mumbai.

If you have ever been to Mumbai, you know that everything is tiny. Roads are narrow and don't even get me started on the size of the rooms! Being a Delhight, I am used to highways, lawns and big rooms. Mumbai hotels always disappoint me in terms of the size of the property but this time I came back happy!

Sofitel Mumbai is strategically located in the central businesses district of the city and is designed specifically for a global traveler.
With its french decor and Indian hospitality, it's a perfect example of what we call 'Best if both worlds'. The moment I entered the complex, a vintage car parked at the entrance welcomes us and gave us a little teaser of the kind of luxury that we were about to experience.

The lobby is kept very classy and clean with beautiful chandeliers hanging down the ceiling and bright color decor that represents the colorful Mumbai culture.

After being welcomed in the most friendliest way, we were taken to the room which in a sight blew me off. With the most luxurious looking bed with purple satin bedding and a comfy couch that with  a big window where one can sit with coffee.

Then I saw this frame with my pic in it quietly sitting in a corner along with chocolates and macrons. As I walked up to the frame, I love as told that I could eat the frames! Yea, you heard it right, eat it! It was a chocolate frame made in their the talented team of Artiysan just for us, isn't that cool!

As we were settling in, I noticed this tub filled with warm water with bubbles and  nicely decorated with rose petals, ready to jump in.

As we were tiered, we decided to take a little nap and then headed straight to Jyran for Dinner.
Jyran, a Contemporary style restaurant looks more like a piece of art. From the loyal Mughal front door to luxurious bar, everything is just mesmerizing but roof top open sitting area was my favorite.
Chef Shabad Ahmed welcomes us with a very unique hookah, totally lived the fruity flavor.
Then it was time for the food which he was really excited to serve us. Being a Delhight, we have access to the best Muglai food but Chef promised us that food will make sure that we don't miss our city.

We started with Kababs which were fine, we moved straight to main course. Dang! It was hands down the best food I gave ever had in Mumbai. I loved their Gandana ka Saag and Vegetarian Biryani. But what stoke the show was Dal-al-Jyran. It was smooth, buttery and tested as if it came straight from food heaven. Best part, Chef Shabad told us that it's almost no cream !!

Finished off dinner with Tabkh Jamun with was gulab jamun stuffed with dry-fruits, Loved it!
Ended the night with some chamomile tea from The Bombay Chai House that Sofitel provides and we were ready to hit the sack.

Next morning started with a HUGE and I literally mean HUGE breakfast spread at Pondichery which is a 24 hours dining restaurant.  Have to give it to Sofitel for the variety of spread. It had literally all cuisines starting from south Indian to north Indian, Chinese, Japanese, English breakfast and local Mumbai food that I was my personal favorite!

Then we headed to the pool that is designed in a very artistic way. You would love to sit by the pool with some cocktail and read a nice novel.
As we were super full from breakfast, we skipped our lunch and went straight for spa about which I will have to write a full blog post as it was 👌🏻
We were not feeling a fancy dinner so ordered for some curd rice and fresh fruits for dinner which we really enjoyed.

Next morning we had our flight for Delhi so we went down to the lobby and guess what, People at Artiysan Sofitel had made us another cop of our chocolate frame to take home! Now that is what we call was going all out!
For drop off, a BMW was waiting for us which took us to airport and what a beautiful early morning drive it was!

Have to say, there us nobody that can beat Sofitel Mumbai BKC when it comes to luxury and hospitality. They take care of every little detail and go that extra mile to give their guest that special, at home comfort.
If you every visit Mumbai and are willing to spend on a luxurious hotel, I would totally suggest Sofitel Mumbai, it worth every penny that you spend! And if not looking for a place to stay, dinner at Jyran is a must!
