Bollywood Ishstyle Wedding

Yes, you got it right; I am talking about the currently trending Bollywood Ishstyle weddings. There are few things as bright and glamorous as the lavish Indian wedding, especially a Bollywood–themed one!

I recently attended a friend’s Bollywood Ishstyle wedding and fell in love with the concept. Nothing like the excitement of a big fat Indian wedding coupled with the drama of Bollywood.

I was surprised and glad to learn that my friend got the entire wedding organized via an app!  The mobile marketplace of services called UrbanClap helped my friend have a wedding of her dreams. Additionally, she got everything including decorators, caterers, wedding photographers in Mumbai, choreographers and lots more booked in a jiffy on this platform. With very less hassles and within the budget, the wedding came out to be just perfect.

Few months after, it was the turn of my brother to get married. Owing to busy personal schedules of everyone in the family, our biggest concern for the last two weeks had been finding a good wedding planner to organize the entire wedding, without taking up too much of our time.

The first step was short-listing the services we wanted through the app. Strapped for time to look for any vendors on our own; we selected quite a few services right from wedding photographers in Mumbai to the live band.

Once selected within minutes, I was contacted by several professionals. Over several Skype and conference calls over the weekend with my brother, the final certified experts were selected.

Capturing one of the most important events in your life is a very crucial component of a wedding. We opted for candid and contemporary photography, perfect for a Bollywood themed affair. The photographer had a trained eye and was able to capture every cherished moment of the wedding. The result was a beautiful album with images that look like they are out of a Bollywood movie set.

·         Decorations out of a Yash Chopra movie set

The decorators and florists we hired through UrbanClap did not leave any stone unturned to make it a ‘happening wedding’! From indoor garden décor for the reception to the grand entry of the couple on a carriage, we had all the props, excitement and drama of a grand Yash Chopra or Karan Johar movie set. It was also a great surprise for my sister in law, who grew up watching Yash Chopra films and is a diehard romantic at heart.

·         Dance like Madhuri

The Sangeet function is the most fun as well as most awaited by all during a wedding. It turned out to be a night of absolute fun with the DJ playing fantastic Bollywood beats as everyone danced to them until the wee hours of the evening. But before that, the practice sessions set-up by our very own choreographer and the final dance performance by family and friends for the wedding, definitely set the mood for a fantastic evening. The dances were choreographed on songs of our favorite Hindi movies and stars.

·         Makeup like Sonam Kapoor-

The pressure of looking close to a movie star (literally, being a Bollywood themed wedding) was high. But my sis-in-law looked stunning, thanks to her looks and the certified bridal makeup artist we found on UrbanClap. The makeup artist seemed to have the hands of a magician and was able to enhance the bride’s features turning her into a movie star!

·         Innovative cocktails, live band & DJ playing desi beats

Besides the DJ playing foot-tapping desi beats at the wedding, we had a live band at the reception. To add to the excitement, we hired a bartender through the app whose innovative cocktails got the guests enjoying each and every single moment of the wedding.

Overall the wedding was a gala event, and thoroughly enjoyed by both friends and family. To start the ceremonies, our contemporary photographer even planned a beautiful Bollywood Ishstyle pre-wedding shoot which set the ball rolling.
