How to mend broken sunglasses

Hey everybody,

My favorite sunglasses BROKE

I am sure by looking at the pics you guys know that my shades are broken.

These were my FAV shades. I love them to death. I bought them last summer from Aldo and wore it a lot.

This one day I was in G.K and someone pushed me and my shades fell on ground. Yes guys, they broke..

I was sooooo irritated.

So obviously went straight to Aldo(citiwalk) to buy another pair.

Guess what, they were sold out..the lady on counter told me that they are not a available anywhere in Delhi-NCR. :( 

I was obsesses with these shades that , I kept the broken one with me.

Recently i found out a way to mend it. Yessss, to repair my beautiful floral sunglasses.

And this is how I mended mine:

All you need to mend then is either adhesive or  hot glue gun

Put some Adhesive on the broken edge and let it rest for 30 sec. Then press both the broken ends together.Let it rest to dry for 3-4 hrs.

After its completely dry, insert the lens as shown in the pic and press it a bit.
And you have your sunglasses back..

I mended 2 pairs( I am quite a clumsy person, keep breaking stuff). Of the second one the glass was just not fitting , every time I tried,the plce where I sealed with adhesive broke again . So what I did was that  I rubbed the edges of lens with pumice stone to reduce its size a bit. And it fitted. 

Do not worry reducing the size of lens  a bit wont look funny ,as in wont be evident when you where it.

I am sure so many of us break our most FAV sunglasses. This is a very good way to repair them.It worked really well for me.
